Center Manager

The main role of the Center Manager is to manage the staff and the operations of the center. The center manager is responsible for making sure the center operates safely and follows all policies and procedures. The Center Manger oversees all staff and patient related issues in the center. You will have the unique opportunity to support ongoing company initiatives that support our mission and values.
Job Duties:*
- Educate and mentor staff on dialysis
- Complete budgets and oversee inventory
- Hire staff and complete annual reviews
- Manage staffing and patient schedules
- Complete quality reports
- Attend management meetings
- Take the lead on center surveys and company initiatives

LVN
Career Path:

The LVN’s primary responsibility is to initiate and monitor the patient treatment. In this role, you will be responsible for making sure the treatment is running safely and that all treatment related concerns are immediately reported to the Charge nurse. You will also have limited nursing duties based on the needs of the center. Other duties may include administering vaccines and medications. As an LVN at Satellite, we encourage you take advantage of our tuition assistance and return to nursing school.

- Set up dialysis machines
- Prepare patients to start treatments by taking weight and vitals and cannulation of access
- Observe patients during treatment
- Monitor machine alarms and document treatment observations
- Clean and disinfect treatment area
- Assist with administration of patient medications

RN

The RN’s primary responsibility is managing the treatment floor and making sure the treatments are running safely. At Satellite, our Nurses are our frontline leaders and work closely with their team to manage, support and mentor. The RN assesses all assigned patients and monitors all treatments. In this role, you will administer medications and monitor lab results and make necessary treatment recommendations to the Nephrologist. The RN reports all treatment related concerns to the attending Nephrologist. The RN can be the manager on the floor (depending on experience).
Job Duties:*
- Assess patients medical condition prior to initiation of treatment
- Monitor patients treatments and make adjustments as needed
- Educate patients about labs, assess and medications
- Report treatment concerns to nephrologist
- Take the lead on all patient medical issues that may occur on the treatment floor
- Oversee the care team working on the treatment floor

Social Worker

The essential role of the Social Worker is to help patients manage life on dialysis. In this role, you are an advocate, educator, resource finder, emotional support and crisis manager. You will be assisting patients to learn to manage a dialysis schedule and daily life balance. Our social workers help our patients to create personalized dialysis care plans to support their dialysis journey. Satellite encourages our Social Workers be engaged with local and national organizations and continue to grow professionally within the field.
Job Duties:*
- Complete psycho social, quality of life and mental health assessments on all patients
- Provide patients with resources for community resources such as transportation, housing and emergency food needs
- Create long/short term care plans to include the Kidney Care Path
- Ongoing crisis management and behavioral interventions
- Educate patients on treatment options such as home therapies and transplant

Dietician

The dietitian in the dialysis center is primarily responsible for educating patients about making the best food choices to live a healthy life on dialysis. The dietitian manages and monitors nutrition related lab values, educates patients and makes necessary recommendations to improve treatment related issues for the best outcomes. Dietitians at Satellite are encouraged to engage within their community and within national organizations.
Job Duties:*
- Clinical assessments of patient health indicators such as: Fluid intake, bone management, protein and calorie intake, vitamins, intradialytic weight gains, supplement needs, phosphorus, dialysis adequacy, and calcium
- Assess patients health & nutritional status
- Educate patients and family on renal nutrition
- Examine monthly lab reports and provide nutritional counseling and education to patients and caretakers
- Develop renal friendly meal plans
- Collaboration with Nephrologist and care team to make medication and treatment adjustments
